European Tour Day 14
Day 14, March 13
(Sorry, I just realized I’ve had my dates mixed up in this blog since close to the beginning.)
Last night I met the delightful Mia, who was so kind to put me up, and she, Mette Louise and I had a really nice time drinking wine (them) and sparkling water (me), mostly talking about relationships.
Then they both left—Mia wasn’t even spending the night in her own house—and I went into the bedroom to find a huge spider on the wall right above my bed. Anywhere else in the house I would have been okay with it, but I didn’t want it joining me in bed.I tried to find something to capture it but nothing seemed big enough. I admit to having some fear thoughts.
Finally I found a really tall glass, so I was about a foot away from the thing, screwed up my courage, got the glass over it, and it wouldn’t fall in, so I had to slide a thin cardboard between, and I got it, opened the door and flung it out of the glass into the night. Whew!
Another beautiful day, and not just weather-wise. I had a nice coaching session in the morning (with another Mette—then I saw her later that evening and she looked so much lighter), and I then spent another needed day alone. I realized I wasn’t getting any new emails. Not good, because I still had a lot of logistical communication to do with people for my trip. I managed to fix the problem and then I had a bunch of catching up to do.
Then I took a really relaxing hour and a half walk in the woods. Then it was time to leave for my evening training. I started walking the mile to get there with my fairly heavy bags, and a very tall, blonde woman pulls up and asks me if I’d like a ride. No brainer. That was so nice of her. I asked her if she’d like to come to the talk for free, and she was interested, but never showed. But 25 other people did, in the small town of Soroe.
Mette Louise and Jacob went on first and talked for an hour in Danish. The only word I understood was “Jack.” That was a strange experience, but I saw that people were quite interested. Then we had a break and it was my turn for the 2nd two hours, although I invited Mette Louise and Jacob to be up in front with me. Knowing English was not their native tongue slowed me way down, which was great.
I had decided to start by asking the audience what they had heard from Mette and Jacob. That turned out to be a brilliant move on my part. From that point on, it was just me answering questions and straightening out misconceptions, and I think I felt the best about that sort-of-introductory training than I ever have. Such a great feeling and people were so present. It was just beautiful!
And Lise Dardanelle, the Danish singer-painter-psychologist (not at the same time) showed up and brought me to her farm house near Copenhagen. Rustic is an understatement. More on her tomorrow.
