European Tour – Saturday’s swim
May 20. Saturday.
What a delightful day! First I was able to straighten out what almost looked like an insurmountable problem with a very dear friend of mine, and from a higher level of consciousness it turned out not to be insurmountable at all. Amazing how that can happen.
Then I went to the pool in this beautiful spa attached to the Grove, took a long swim, went into the steam room, and then into the sauna–hot, sweat, cold shower, back into the heat, cold shower again—a few times, cleaning out those pores. Felt great! The only weird thing was when I got into the pool the pool was empty, but I started swimming my laps along one side. Then some guy got into the pool with a snorkel mask on, which is a strange thing to wear in the swimming pool anyway, and started swimming right next to me, when the entire rest of the pool was empty, and I bumped into him about three times. I thought I was right back in the middle of my book, Somebody Should Have Told Us!, in the swimming pool with those kids. What was he trying to do, check me out under the water or something? I have no idea. I decided not to think about it.
The highlight of the day came when my good friend, Janet Rhiney, came all the way down from Birmingham to visit me, even though she is not attending the conference this year. That was so sweet of her! And we had the greatest time talking about the spiritual aspects of the Principles. I loved our conversation!
Then it was time for dinner, and since I had missed breakfast and only had an Isagenix shake for lunch and had done all that swimming, by the time I got to the incredible buffet, I was so hungry I made the mistake of pigging out, especially on the amazing desserts, which I don’t usually eat much of, and all that sugar and my body’s attempt to digest it all really affected my sleep.
