European Tour Day 44: Going deeper with the Principles
Day 44, April 12.
The training day went beautifully today. It felt good for me to be teaching at this level again. I simply love it when a group of people who understands the three principles all go deeper together.
I gave feedback on their presentations the night before. Then I spent some time on the new way I realized about how to teach deep listening, and gave them an opportunity to practice it with each other. Really good day.
Going deeper
But I was trying to straighten out some logistics for how I was going to fly to Portugal, and I could not get on line at the hotel.
So during a training break I had to run to try to take care of it, and I didn’t have much time, so I was walking fast and with great purpose into the lobby, and I spotted the hotel computer to the right of me, and as I was pondering wondering whether I should try to get on line on that, I smashed my head right into a 3’ wide solid column holding up the lobby ceiling. It nearly sent me right onto the ground.
I was stunned for a few moments, but tried to be cool and kept walking as if nothing had happened, but my head started hurting badly. I couldn’t concentrate on any logistics, and I spent the first half hour back in the training in kind of a daze.
Then I forgot about it until I took a shower later before we went to eat and when I went to wash my hair—ouch!
The whole thing reminded me of Thales, the first Greek philosopher, who was walking along contemplating the mysteries of life and he fell into a well. [That’s not the kind of deeper we mean!]
