EuroTrip Day 22: A tough training
Day 22, Tuesday, May 12, 2015
This was the toughest training day I’ve had in a while. I was doing a “Masterclass” through Birmingham University, for social workers and mental health workers, and despite telling them to check their intellects and what they know at the door, they didn’t. I just haven’t done a training for professionals new to the principles for quite a while; I used to do many, many, many of them over the years. I don’t like doing them anymore, because I don’t like dealing with the intellect. But Claire told me she thought it was a big success. She’s focusing on the people who did hear something, and there were a number of them out of the 50 attendees, because they came up to me and told me. Claire is exactly right.
One difficult moment for me, though, was when I had some people get up and give testimonials about changes that had happened in their lives as a result of 3P understanding, and some of them sounded evangelical to the crowd. Eeek. That’s the last thing I wanted to portray or convey.
I was so exhausted after this day. Janet and I went to Claire’s and her partner’s for a delicious, most fattening dinner that I’ve had in a long time.
Hi Jack
I would like to say the training session you delivered at Birmingham university was excellent. I was one of the attendees and The 3 principles will be used in my practice as a Senior Practitioner in secondary mental health services and as an AMHP.
Thankyou so much for your presentation it was very insightful and put across so simply….
