Saturday, February 24. I woke up at 3:30 AM with a splitting headache, not amused because I couldn’t get back to sleep. I think it was because I had two sugar soft drinks plus a bit of delicious glutinous food at the reception, which also served as my dinner. When will the boy ever learn? Okay, I wasn’t going to beat myself up over it, so I just took a couple of ibuprofen and put a spiritual talk on my headphones and ultimately I did get back to sleep. But when the alarm rang at 7:00 AM, it seemed awfully early. The reason was because Rochelle and her husband were going to pick me up at 7:50 to take me down to her morning session offering on the beach. I forget what it’s called—I have to ask her—but it was kind of a combination of T’ai Chi, Qi Gong and a bit of Yoga. It was all about the gathering of energy and bringing it into your body. I’ll be darned if I didn’t make it through the entire training day without the aid of any caffeine or 5-Hr. Energy, which I really thought I was going to have to take, I had been so tired. Whatever Rochelle had us do worked wonders. I felt pretty energized all day. And the training day itself went really well. We talked a lot about creation of illusion. There is no limit to the depth of the simplicity of that phrase. It was actually fairly chilly today, so I did not go back to the beach. But since my host, Kate, had advised me not to walk back up the boardwalk from the downtown because I might get lost going in the other direction, because there are a lot of turns off of it, I decided I just had to try it. And I made it; didn’t get lost it all. Had leftovers for dinner. Took a bath. One funny thing happened. Yesterday it seemed something happened to my reading glasses, because all of a sudden they weren’t working to help me read anymore. I noticed one eye still worked but the other one didn’t, so I figured there must be some kind of film or dirt on my other lens, and I would clean it as soon as I could. So as I got into the bathtub to read, first I cleaned my good lens, then as I went to clean my other lens I realized there was no lens in that space at all. It must have dropped out. That’s why I couldn’t read anymore! Funny! If that’s not the power of thought, I don’t know what is. Quiet night. Hoping for much better sleep tonight.
