Sunday, June 3. Today was the first day of the first ever Israel Three Principles Conference. I was so grateful to be the keynote speaker. First, David came to get me at 8:30 AM and we took a taxi to the conference. I had decided to take the chance and run my talk, which was scheduled to go all morning long, as I would do a training, even though there were 100+ people in the room. About 40% of the group were really new to the Principles, and 2/3 of the group had only been involved in the last couple of years, so I had to spend the first part of the time for new people talking about the Three Principles and how they work. Then I taught them deep listening and had them break up into pairs for a deep listening activity. I had intended to use a preliminary deep listening question, but the whole first part of the morning was taken up by my talk, which just seemed to flow beautifully, and with answering questions. As we had already moved on to talking about “creation of illusion,” I decided to focus my deep listening question on that. I’m very happy to say it worked like a charm. It really felt like a beautiful session, and I got some really good feedback. In the afternoon I started getting really tired during the breakout sessions run by other people, and I actually had to lie down and take a little nap while the second breakout session was happening, but I lay down within earshot so I caught some of it. Then it was time to close the day with me hosting a panel on stories of transformation. All my panel members did a wonderful job and I tied it together at the end talking a little bit about what transformation is and how it comes about. Raizel invited me to have dinner with some of the conference helpers, but so many people had come up to me and asked me questions even during the breaks that I felt like I was on almost the entire time, and I had to get away from talking with anybody, as much as I would’ve liked to join them. So, after taking a taxi home with David, I went out to eat by myself back at The Crave restaurant, where I had eaten before with Raizel and Chana, and had a fish burrito, which was delicious but I ate too much. When I went to pay I was shocked that I barely had enough shekles left to pay for my dinner. I didn’t even have enough money left to buy an ice cream. I’m learning that things are very expensive here, but it’s hard to tell because one shekel equals about something like 38% of a dollar, but it cost a lot of shekles to buy anything. If I had been smart, I would have asked for some of the money collected from my book sales at the conference, as all but two of my books had already sold. I guess I should have sent more. But it was a great first day at the conference.
