Euro4: Day off at the substance abuse treatment center
November 16, Wednesday
Well, the training retreat is over but the wonderful feeling remains still. Last night I worked late into the night, having a private session with one of the trainees and interviewing Dorota until my voice recorder told me I ran out of memory. So we stopped the session, and picked it up again this morning.
Meanwhile I got a very poor night’s sleep again, woke up with a headache and had a very early, long Skype session with a friend. Then I had a meeting with Sheela, Katja and Gabriela to debrief the session and plan for our next, which will likely be April 2017. Then Holly, Richard and I jumped into Holly’s rental car and drove to Javea, where we met Amanda and Sally.
I thought we were going over to an informal meeting with the substance abuse treatment center Amanda had made inroads into and to give support to Sally who was going to speak, but it turned out that I ended up being on “stage” with Sally and Amanda in front of about 15 people from their staff to give a presentation. That really took me by surprise. But it seemed to go well and this treatment center has potential to at least consider the Three Principles.
Sally gave a great talk, and Amanda, as usual, has been wonderful spreading love seeds all over that center and cultivating their interest. On the way back in the car, Richard, Holly and I had a wonderful conversation.
We got back in time for dinner, then I washed my clothes in the bathtub with some laundry detergent I borrowed from Sheela and hung them around my room. It’s probably going to take about three days for them to dry. A very busy day on my first day off.
