European Tour #3 – In the footsteps of the Romans
Day 18. April 29. Friday.
I took a walk in the old city of Palma today, and when I say old I’m not kidding. Around 500 B.C., a walled city built by the Romans when they invaded Mallorca. I love the idea of walking around where actual Romans walked. The place is truly beautiful. I love the narrow streets, the castle-fortress-like structure. There is also an amazing, large cathedral in it built around 1600 or so.
Robin began walking there with me but she has some nerve impingement thing going on in her leg and suffers with a burning sensation, which makes her have to stop regularly and not be able to go too far. So I walked her home and then went back in by myself. She was the only thing missing. I’m having a truly wonderful time.
Day 19. April 30. Saturday.
A quiet day for my last day here. Among Robin’s many talents she is also a massage therapist and today she felt strong enough on her leg to give me one, and it was possibly the best massage I’ve ever received—not only the mechanics but the loving energy she put into it. My back was hurting before, and it wasn’t after.
I took her out to dinner to an Indian restaurant as a small thank you for a pretty perfect time together on Mallorca. We talked about the possibility of working together in the future. I now feel rejuvenated enough to teach again.
