European Tour #3 – Old and new friends
Day 37. May 18. Wednesday.
How could I have neglected to write this?: Immediately when the conference ended I met with Janet Rhynie, one of my (and everyone’s) favorite people, and we had a really nice talk reconnecting, walking around outside. I love Janet and we seem to have a special connection. It was like we were never apart; picked up right where we left off.
Okay, next day: Said goodbye to St. Albans; took a train with Chantal to St. Pancras station where we parted company. Chantal has been really great to me, and I appreciate it so much.
Then on to meet with another new friend, Kirsty Hanly. We had done some work together a couple of years ago. We were supposed to meet for lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Islington, but she hurt her back pretty badly moving from one house to another and had to cancel with regrets. However, with great compassion because I had been in the exact same position with my back in Vermont and with moving not too long ago, I asked her if she’d have me come to her new place instead and I’d give her a back massage. So we had a real nice, if fairly brief, massage-talk, and I got her loosened up enough so she could drive again, which she greatly appreciated. So she was able to drive me to the train station, because now I’m lugging my bags around again.
I was off by very expensive train to meet and stay over with another wonderful guy and friend, Rudi Kennard, in Pebmarsh, near Halstead, near Colchester. Both of us had lost love relationships not too long ago and we took a nice walk and shared stories of loss, recovery, wisdom and how understanding the Three Principles has helped us both immeasurably. I feel blessed with all the good friends I have made through the Three Principles, not to mention understanding the Principles themselves. Thanks, Syd! [Sydney Banks]
