European Tour #3 – One Solution in Oslo
Day 46. May 27. Friday.
I had a good night’s sleep—probably because I was so exhausted. I was supposed to meet someone from Oslo for a counseling session but George [Pransky] wanted me to plan more with him for our joint presentation at the [One Solution] conference so I sent him and email and asked if we could postpone, then I had to leave before receiving his answer. I just hate to let people down, but we will reschedule sometime this weekend.
Then I found out where I was supposed to go across town and had to take a taxi there. It was a planning breakfast meeting at Eirik’s and Mara’s for all the conference presenters. At it I was surprised (and happy) to find Jacqueline Hollows and Mahima from Nepal, whom I had looked for at the “Tikun” conference but couldn’t find.
Sitting there in that meeting I realized how potentially big this Oslo conference is—the first time the Three Principles are being put out on a global scale. Mara’s [Gleason] idea. Good for her.
Then I met with George to plan our presentation on Modello. All the presenters have very specific guidelines to follow. We have to 1) present an insolvable problem, 2) show how the 3Ps are a solution, and 3) show “proof of concept” (that it really worked).
I’m looking forward to presenting with George for the first time but I have some nervous thinking about it, hoping I can live up to his expectations.
Then I walked back all the way across town to my hotel, which took a while but was a nice walk. I was really proud of myself that I didn’t get lost—I have a pretty good sense of direction. I went through some really nice parts of Oslo that I would not have seen otherwise. Rested up in the hotel for the rest of the afternoon—rearranged my counseling session for Sunday morning early—and then walked by the waterfront to the conference venue. Couldn’t find the place at first.
Once in I bumped into Richard talking with Elsie [Spittle], who was playing it very low key and almost wanted to be incognito at this conference. I don’t blame her; even I got a little attention from people I don’t know thinking they know me because they’ve seen my videos and read my books. It’s kind of an eerie feeling, but I don’t mind it at all. I keep forgetting my videos are out there; it’s like I don’t even want to know what I said on them. The conference started tonight. Eirik, Mara, George, Linda [Pransky] and Aaron [Turner] spoke, and I thought they were all good and set a nice tone for what will follow. I didn’t want to hang out with people tonight after it ended because I go on tomorrow morning and need a good night’s sleep, so I walked back to my hotel with Richard.
