European Tour #3 – Journey to Norway
Day 45. May 26. Thursday.
After breakfast and a visit to the outhouse—yes, an open outhouse in the great outdoors with a very peaceful view no less—Richard and I packed our bags and with Kim and a little dog and cat we jumped onto Richard’s boat to head to the mainland. But not before I got a surprise call from Robin from Mallorca, who missed me—awww! We couldn’t talk long because Richard and I had to catch a bus, but it was so nice to have that voice connection again. It is very likely she will visit me in Nantasket Beach in Massachusetts during the summer, stopping in Boston before heading to a training she set up in California. Robin even agreed to help Kim with some pointers in setting up her new Goddess boat excursion tourist business-to-be, wonderful woman that she is.
On the mainland we docked, hopped in Kim’s car, drove to her house, dropped off her cat, and headed up to see her Goddess business inspiration, first at a big circular gravesite dating from 3000 B.C., complete with ancient gravestones, and then went up to see ancient drawings carved painstakingly into rocks (including a couple making love) at Vitlycke, which also has a museum and a mock village from the Bronze Age. We stopped at the museum café for a cup of tea and some ridiculously gluttonous pie—it was only 10:30 AM!
We couldn’t dawdle too long because Kim had to get us to the bus stop. Then Richard and I took an hour and 40 minute bus ride to Oslo, having a great conversation about relationships. I also played him a couple of songs Lise Dandanelle had sent me, and Richard, an excellent guitar player himself and very picky, was extremely taken and moved by them, with very good reason.
When we arrived in Oslo—looks like a nice city; Norway is a new country for me—and got off the bus we needed an information place to tell us where the information place was. Finally found it, ate lunch, then went off in two different directions to our respective hotels. After a rest we met again for a nice Italian dinner. One more weekend conference and then finally home! Can’t wait!
