European Tour #3 – Spirit of Renewal
Day 26. May 7. Saturday.
Had a real nice training day outside of Glasgow today with about 18 people at a really nice place: Mugdock Country Park. “Spirit of Renewal” it was called—Christian’s idea, but it got my mind stimulated to think about that subject in relation to the Three Principles–great for keeping me fresh.
The only thing is it was set up in quasi-theater style, with three wide semi-circle rows, so that was a little different for me, as I usually like to work in a circle where everyone can see and talk with each other.
The other thing that surprised me was when I walked up, there was Brett Chitty of Supermind getting ready to video the proceedings for potential future sales, and I had totally spaced out that I’d given my approval for that to happen when Christian had asked. Suddenly I wondered whether I wanted on video some of the things I planned to say. But I was assured I could cut out anything I wanted, so I relaxed about it.
I felt like this training started a little slow but by the time we finished I felt real good about it and by the end of the day most everyone was in a really good feeling. At the end of the first day I asked participants what they wanted to cover for the second day, and I had to stop the list at the bottom of the newsprint sheet. So that night, based on what they wanted, I had to plan for Day II.
Christian and Marie (whom I originally met on Mark’s first trek) asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with them, but after a day of training I didn’t feel like talking anymore so I passed and got a nice meal at a take-out place called Sumerians. After the guys who ran it asked me where I was from, given my accent, I asked them with their thick accents who ran it where they were from, and they said, “Guess.” So I thought about the name of the restaurant and my remembrance of ancient history and I guessed Iraq. They were impressed.
