European Tour #3 – The Trouble with Teachers and Books
Day 21. May 2. Sunday.
Back to work, rejuvenated. It felt good.
The seminar went very well. Jacquie planned for it to be very informal; no topic, which proved very relaxing for me. But I got inspired just before it to talk about how when we look to teachers and books for the answers we’re really saying the answers are not within ourselves, and that, of course, is the only place answers are found (via our own insights from within).
Luckily, Jacquie had the foresight to have the session videoed, so we may end up putting out an edited version in some way because of how well it went. Really nice feeling.
I re-met Stef and Kaye (3P business partners) and Tony A. and met some nice new people, too. Everyone said they liked it a lot.
After it was over I walked to the top of the high hill overlooking the city of Edinburgh, with its big castle in the distance, and just before I got to the top it started to rain, but the sun was still out. When I got over the top of the hill I saw a beautiful, full, bright rainbow. Perfect cap-off to the day.
Also, on a whim, I decided to go visit Findhorn tomorrow for a couple of days before I have to be on again in Glasgow on Thursday evening. More on that tomorrow.
Wish I were there. The central reality of innate health is that is simply that you already have what youre looking for but for youre looking . There is something about the embodied understanding in a teacher which facillitates “realization” of that which already exists . The formless and eternal aspects in the listener “recognize” the pure formless mind and consciousness in the teacher when we can speak before form as SYD put it. But that is the key. Mind recognizes mind. It is only the habit of the traditional teacher/student dyad and personal thought which attends a seeking person which creates the illusion that the wisom resides with the teacher. In fact this is partly true. But the greater truth is that it is student or listeners wisdom which is required to recognize the teacher as wise. And so we speak before form, mind to mind, heart to heart, knowing people are already well and sometimes they agree with us. Be Well , hope to see you again soon. Mick
