Jack’s EUROTRIP BLOG, MAY 14, 2018
Monday, May 14. My alarm clock didn’t ring; I overslept by an hour. So I didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast, but I was on time to meet a few people to walk to Allianz Park together, where the conference is being held at the rugby stadium. Katie walked with us and I asked her about the possibility of getting my cord. But she was so tied up with conference management details that it didn’t seem right to trouble her with this personal matter. I told her I would try to find a ride. I had Liliana in mind because I knew she had a car there but when I walked in I spotted Sue and Sheela at their table, and as I was telling them of my plight, Sue offered to drive me after the conference. That was so sweet of her! I got into Michael Neill’s opening session a little late, and this was the best I’ve ever heard him. No theatrics, no performing, just being real and sincere, and it was really beautiful. Then it was time for my own breakout session on The Simplicity of the Principles. It felt really good when I was doing it, especially when people asked me questions, which took up about half the time, and judging by the feedback that I got from people, it really went well. And I spotted Michael Neill in the back of the room. I wanted to talk with him at the end of the session but a lot of people came up to me afterwards to continue asking questions and giving me great feedback, so I didn’t get the chance. I had agreed to meet Amanda Gachot for lunch. Amanda and I go back a few years to when she attended one of my Extended Professional Trainings (EPT) in Spain, and then a couple of years ago she graciously drove me around to parts of Spain I had not seen before. But I hadn’t seen her since, and it was great catching up with her. Then it was time for Dicken’s session on Love is Always the Answer, and that was a beautiful session, too. But I was so tired at that point that I nearly nodded off twice during the session. It wasn’t Dicken’s fault. After the session, Amanda and I went downstairs to see if we could intercept Sue but, oddly, all the tables were gone, including the people who were behind them. But we did spot Sue, who was standing talking with Chantal Burns, whom it was also great to see. Amanda said she had to take care of something outside and she would be back, but she never did come back. So Sue, Sheela and I drove off to The Grove. We missed the last conference session. But I did retrieve my charger, even though it took The Grove a little longer to come up with it than expected. We did have a nice time during the drive, and I really appreciate Sue doing this for me. They drove me back to the Hendon Hall Hotel.
