Euro4 : An electric start (in a Tesla)
November 6, Sunday.
I was met at the airport by the very lovely Amanda Gachot. About four years ago on my first European tour she had invited me to take me around the Costa del Sol area of Spain, where she lives, but on that tour the timing wasn’t right so I didn’t take her up on it. Then she attended a few of my trainings in Albir. So if the invitation was still open I wanted to do it this time. From the Malaga airport she brought me up to her gorgeous house in Benahavis, Marbella. I took a very-much-needed one hour nap, just to get me through the day, then we went on a nice walk up into the mountains by a lake not too far from her home, which was beautiful, and we had a really nice talk.
I also fell in love with her car, the first time I had ever been driven around in a Tesla—completely electric and amazingly peppy. Zero miles to the gallon, because there is no gallon of anything. All she does is plug in the car at night when she goes to bed. The car goes about 475 km on one charge. Very comfortable car, too. The only problem is, it is way too expensive for me to afford, but I would buy one in a second if I could. That night it was absolutely essential that I get some serious sleep.
