European Tour #3 – Nearly a day off
Day 10. April 21. Thursday
Ahh, a much needed day off. I’m not sure I have ever been more exhausted from a training than I was last night. Maybe it was the subject matter, consciousness; maybe it was that I had never done this type of training retreat before on that subject; maybe it was because of the huge experience I had with the subject that I never really felt I captured with the group; maybe it was just because I was just plain tired already—I don’t know—but it doesn’t matter because the result was, aside from what turned out to be a great training, I was exhausted.
In the morning Tommy Olausson did a presentation on how the way we walk affects everything else in our bodies. He eloquently described the problem in the way we walk, mostly by banging our heels, which jars our entire body all the way up. Unfortunately, the presentation fell a little short on how we should walk properly. I had had a couple of sessions with Tommy over Skype before I came here, which helped me out a lot, but the morning group never really got that benefit. I understand in his evening presentation, he did make adjustments and deal with how to walk, so that was great. I would recommend him to anyone who experiences bone or connective tissue or muscular pain.
The highlight of the day, by far, was when Amanda G. offered to drive me and 6 others to Guadalest. Even though I had been there the day before I jumped at the chance. So Richard, Karen, Lionel, Diane, McO and I hopped in Amanda’s car and we had a great, relaxing day together. I wished everyone could fit in that car; I wanted to take everyone with me. That’s the feeling that I have for this group right now.
That night I had a private coaching session with Mick, who had a nice insight, so that was great too. So it wasn’t entirely my day off. But close enough.
