Saturday, May 26. Back to work after a long holiday. I felt reinvigorated. This is an interesting training, because it was first planned as an advanced training for coaches. But only a few coaches were attending because there is another year-long 3P coaching program here in Italy, where they meet every month and it’s quite time-consuming. So other people were invited into this training who did not have much Three Principles experience. Striking a balance between these two different groups is challenging. What I decided to do was have the seasoned coaches make a presentation to the new people about the Three Principles. I gave them each assignments, pretty much like I did with my EPT trainings in Spain, and they did a good job. But I did have to point out that for the most part their points were not clear and three out of the five did not put their own personal stories of transformation front and center. They seemed to appreciate that feedback. After lunch we took a retreat-type break in the afternoon, where I took my second day-in-a-row-30-minute swim in the Adriatic Sea, then went up to take a little nap. I set my alarm, and much to my utter shock, when I awoke without hearing my alarm ring, I was already five minutes late to get to the afternoon session. I scrambled to get myself together. I apologized to the group, then the coaches took questions from the rest of the participants. Then it was my turn, and I tried to explain the Principles in a very simple way, then opened it up for questions. Much to my surprise I ended up doing a couple of demonstration coaching sessions, because that’s what the questions prompted, and they both worked beautifully, with participants having big insights. The feeling at days end was excellent; a great start to this training. Finally, the coaches, Monica, Carla, Simona and Angela—everyone except Grace—went out to eat dinner together on the beach, which was really nice. By this time I was getting tired so I excused myself and walked the short distance back to the hotel, grabbed another stracciatella gelato—the best I’ve had; this is Italy, after all—and went back to my room for an early night.
